Term 4 technology and coding

This term we have been making and designing mars rovers that would be able to explore and scale the terrain of mars.We designed the mars lander to scale the terrain of mars and to take and capture photos of the red planet an before. we used the shpero as the wheels and engine so we could build our model around it

I think that the lander worked out well because is is able to climb hills and rough terrains. The chassis needed to be more maneuverable than before so the wheels will not get stuck in the ground so it will go over the rocks and uneven terrains easier.

we also have been learning  how to use basic javascript syntax we have been playing around with it by sending different lines of code to a character and moving it to the end of a maze. I figured that it is very finicky and it is case sensitive. We were practicing using codecombat.  

art term 3

This term one of our modules was art. I really loved this topic because art is one of my many passions and skills. some of our drawings relate to the pb4l school-wide expectations. this picture relates to safety.

this robots purpose is to maintain security and safety in the town that is is deployed in. i based him off an old moped that got turned into a robot i tried to incorporate all the different parts you would find if you  dissembled a moped. i added the shading on the side of the robot facing to the back of the picture so that is shows that he is facing into the sun.

this term we have been working on algebra we have done things such as linear equations,factorising and expanding brackets.

Term 2 nzl

this term we are learning to express our self through art.

We have been looking at different pieces of new Zealand made art, we have been noticing different aspects of these artworks and trying to figure out what they mean.

term 1 nzl

Last term in Nzl we were learning about identity.

one of the activity s we did was understanding kiwiana what we had to do was read clues relating to a object or animal and we had to match the clue to the object or animal.
I really enjoyed this because I learnt a lot about new Zealand that i hadn't previously known.

Term 1 Greyhigh

This term in English we have been working really hard on the hero cycle. we have been writing a bout our heroes and why they are famous and how they came to fame.

This is the paragraph that I wrote about him

Burt Munro was a motorcycle racer famous for setting an under 1000cc

record with his Indian Scout in Bonneville Salt Flats at 26th of August 1967.
This record still stands today and it has been for 51 years. He is my hero because he has shown me that
you can achieve a lot when you put your mind to it . you can visit his memorials at the museum in
Invercargill
one of them is at a place called Ehayes on Dee street
. another place you can find an exhibit about Burt is at the Invercargill museum not to far from Ehayes.
Last year I visited these two places and I thought they were really cool
because there was loads of information including his official certificate for the
time he set the record at Ehayes.
At the Museum they had his actual bike that he use to break the record
of cores it didn't look as cool as it use to because the bike was missing the iconic
goldfish shaped shell to increase the bikes aerodynamics. But overall I thought it was
a cool experience.
